Earlier today I decided to make my first visit ever to Fiesta Island. (Which technically isn't an island.) It is part of San Diego's Mission Bay Park.
I went thinking there was a possibility of finding interesting flowers to photograph, even though I don't recall ever reading anything about flowers on Fiesta Island.
Access to the areas of Fiesta Island is via a one-way single land road that runs around the outer edge, between the beaches and the interior of the island. I cruised around the entire circumference once to verify there were in fact flowers growing within site of the road, then stopped a few times to walk around and take photos of them.
Among the flowers were a few patches of very bright red ones. When I approached the first of those patches, I found they were a variety of ice plant flower. And here they are.
